From the CBS Evening News last night, here’s a scene more uncomfortable than sticking your tounge in a box of toenail clippings (BTW - You need help Will). I admit I am no fan of Katie Couric. She is the epitome of all that is wrong in today’s news culture. Someone, somewhere at CBS thought the best way to attract viewers to a news product was to put a camera on Couric’s gams and make sure she keeps her head cocked like a high school cheerleader contemplating the inner meaning of last night’s episode of the OC. War and new leaders in Washington don’t carry the day. Instead, it’s that night’s choice of pearl necklace.
Anyway, last night gremlins invaded the CBS studio. Her Perkiness and her handlers found themselves with about an extra minute to kill. So they went to two quick news promos sandwiched with Couric just … standing … there … uncomfortably. What talent! Somewhere, Dan Rather is laughing harder than a country clown high on hops.
