I received a tip from a TBoY fan who is associated with the people that made this video. In light of the recent Mario postings here, I thought this was a pretty good summary of the whole Mario craze.

And yes, I actually have part of the music from the ‘underground’ world in Super Mario Brothers worked out on the banjo…maybe that will be my next conquest.

It’s 1993. It’s Bob Costas. It’s Ditka. It’s OJ. It’s “Computer Bowl.” It’s pure comedy.

Anyone else playing Madden 07?

I will forever be in fear now when I have to take out the garbage. The only thing this vintage 1970’s b-movie clip doesn’t have are some well groomed mullets. I guess those didn’t really come of age until the 80’s though, did they?

I definitely like seeing things like this out of context. It makes them that much more WTF-able. I would probably not enjoy this nearly as much if I had to watch the terrible movie that is before and after this clip.

This is pretty cool. I enjoy glimpses backwards into the past like this. It puts into perspective the ‘visionary’ foresight that people like Jobs and Gates had, and makes it quite a remarkable circumstance to reflect on.
